Project Haiti Team Home!

From Web Coordinator- Monday, August 15th-

We thank the Lord for a safe return of all of our team members. They have served well, and are ready to return. This trip has changed their lives forever.

We would like to thank each of you, their supporters, for being obedient to the Lord by giving in so many different way.  Ten homes are going to be built for 10 families at the compound. The team was able to complete one. As with Habitat for Humanity, the families who are chosen to receive a home are required to help build another one…Sweat Equity.

Please continue to pray for those the team meet this past week:

Pray for Vladimir their interpreter.

Pray for Jacques their Haitian construction manager.

Pray for Mathurine the Haitian Pastor.

Pray for the Haitians as they struggle to provide for their families in a nation with little resources.

We close this chapter for our mission trip to Haiti, and look forward to a new one in the future. Thank you for your prayers and comments to the team.

In His Service,
Nancy Green

Friday Report From Team

11:25 pm- Friday, Aug. 12th- From Sandi Moseley-  Today we were the bucket brigade. We passed concrete to the workers so they could finish the floor of the house. The roof went on and we were able to witness the completion of the first house.

We buried a Bible in the threshold and dedicated the house and the future of this project to God in front of the Bible we wrote Creole Matt. 7:24-25.

The Haitian worker team prayed for us and sang praise songs thanking us for our work. The scripture they gave us was Jeremiah 29:11. We shared Philipians 1:6 “Be confident of this He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. “Thus reminding us that the work is the Lord’s.

Haiti will forever be in our hearts. The people and their land have blessed us and we will never be the same.

The team will be leaving Haiti today at 12 noon. Please continue to be in prayer for them as they travel. And for the Haitians who are left behind. Also continue to remember to pray for those teams coming after our team who will build more houses at the project.

Friday Update From The Team

Friday, August 12, 2011- From Sandi Moseley- 7:24 am- Please continue to pray for Penny as she recovers.

On Thursday, we saw the completion of all four walls. The Haitian people are the hardest working people . They work long hours with very few breaks.  We on the other hand need many water breaks!

Many children hang around the site and like to strike up conversations. With the help of our interpreter we are able to share with the children Jesus and his love by using the Bridge method. The children asked for Kreole Bibles. We have a contact in Port A Prince that is gettng them for the children.
We praise God today for the opportunity to be His witness.  Other praises today are for rain and ice cold sodas!!

This is Vladimir our interpreter.  He is an amazing young man.  He taught himself English so he would have a better chance of getting a job. Vladimir lost his home in the earthquake.  Please pray for his safety as he works with all the volunteer teams.  Pray God blesses his service.

Good Morning from Haiti!

7:05 am- From Sandi Moseley- Good morning! Penny is much better this morning. The swelling has gone down and she feels 100 percent. Thank you for your prayers. The back up generator is working. Continue to pray that the parts can be found to fix the main generator.  We are thanking God for Steve and his knowledge about generators. With out him we would have no electricity or water. God has a purpose for each one of us on this team and are learning each day what that purpose is for each of us.

Pray for Jacques (see picture below), our Haitian construction manager. He is a 25 year old man who coordinates the Haitian workers and volunteers. He is a remarkable young man. He wants to continue his education and become a pastor.

Pray for the team today that we continue to find our strength in Christ to accomplish the task.

EMERGENCY PRAYER REQUEST

From Sandi Moseley via Butch Crafton and Barry Moseley- The generator is broken and needs to be repaired ASAP. It runs their water and lights. Steve, a team member, is well capable of repairing it when the cause is located. Praise God for that!  Update on Penny: The swelling has gone down and it has been determined it was a spider bite, though we do not know which kind of spider.  Please pray an urgent prayer for the team. The Lord will meet their needs. Continue to pray for cooler temps and grace for them if they have to continue working in the extreme heat.-ng
